Why do we need a Happiness Journal?

Have you heard of the happiness journal? Everyone wants to be happy and dreams of a happy life. I’m going to share my method for finding my true happiness in my happiness digital journal.

I’m not an expert on life and happiness. I am still learning from the experts how I will be happier and achieve my goals. This is a journey of continuous improvement, learning, and refinement. That’s why I had an idea for a happiness journal.

From my experience, I found that happiness boosts your self-esteem to be yourself and continue growing toward your dream goals.

That’s why I love this quote.

“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.” Albert Schweitzer

This means that happiness isn’t some big thing you pursue. It is not something you chase after. It’s not something “out there” that you have to go way out of your way to hunt down. It’s right in your mind and in your inner voice. So it’s something you can do every day.

From my experience, I have created a digital bullet journal and added a guided happiness mindset journal that helps your everyday life.

Mindfulness reflection Journal

Mindfulness reflection journal

Journaling can promote positive self-reflection, a useful approach to enhancing your self-esteem. In this

Self-Esteem Journal template, you can note down meaningful daily events and reflect on them to enhance your self-knowledge.

It may be helpful to reflect on these entries later in time to become aware of any trends in your feelings and emotions.

Self-esteem is key to happiness.

When we feel good about ourselves, we are more likely to take on new challenges and be successful. You must start with a deep understanding of your nature to get the most out of your self-discovery.

Happiness Journal

Happiness is the discovery that doing things makes you happy. It also makes your life work better.

The more you raise your happiness level, the more likely you’ll start achieving all those things you want to achieve.

So I went digging further into the subject and designed components of small things and actions that can help a person be happier in our happiness digital journal. You can reprogram your brain through some simple exercises that are easy to do. But, to start seeing positive changes, you need to do those exercises every day for at least 60 days.

Digital Bullet Journal page

Bullet Journal concept of journalling

An index page was designed with each line hyperlinking to designation pages. I have pre-designed future logs, monthly logs, daily journals, and collection pages.

This is a journal where you write everything that comes to mind, first thing in the morning and evening, for just 5 minutes. It sounds so simple that you can follow the prompt and answer it yourself.

I also believed it, until I tried to do the daily 5 minutes journalling myself. And I can honestly say that they work.

The benefits of daily journaling:

  1. Clear your mind and focus on prioritizing daily tasks

  2. It helps you to discover your creativity

  3. It helps to prevent your inner critic, for example writing 3 things you are grateful for…

  4. Journaling makes you less anxious. Envy, anger, fear, procrastination. All these emotions when put on paper can be seen for what they are. You realize it’s not so bad.

  5. It helps to become a better idea generator.

There are many ways to write a journal entry. And there is no right or wrong way of doing it. The main purpose is to wake up and write 2-3 sentences on handwritten pages each morning. It becomes one of your “self-care” morning routines that help you start your day positively.

Journalling pages

Daily journal page

The daily page consists of two parts. You have the first page you fill out in the morning and the second part in the evening.

Start your day by describing how you feel. You can draw an emoji or describe it in 2–3 sentences. Then, to steer your day in a positive direction, write down why today will be a great day.

What’s important to you and what is something that always makes you smile? These are three simple questions to answer that will have a huge positive impact on your day.

To focus on positive vibes, even more, write down 2-3 affirmations for today.

What are affirmations?

It’s a phrase or mantra that you repeat to yourself, which describes a specific outcome or who you want to be. They are simple messages repeated over and over, so they slowly change your thinking which leads to changing your reality.

Tips for writing affirmations:

  1. Use “I” and “My”, it’s all about you.

  2. Stay positive. Don’t focus on the things you want to avoid or get rid of. Instead, focus on the positive side of behaviors.

  3. Avoid “want” and “need”. Good alternatives are: “I choose”, “I embrace”, and “I have”.

  4. Keep it in the present tense

  5. Believe yourself

From the daily page, you can easily access the monthly log page to write down anything that’s on your mind or any goals to achieve.

In the evening, review your day and write down three things you are grateful for. The great thing is that it’s an easy habit to form, and after a while, you are left with a great collection of inspiring material to look back on when you need a pick-me-up.

Writing down your thoughts about…

  1. What you are thankful for

  2. What can make you more optimistic? – because you are choosing to see more of the positivity in your life and give less power to negative emotions. It also means that you are acknowledging the goodness in your life which leads to feeling more positive emotions, relishing good experiences, and building strong relationships.

The perfect recipe for a much happier life.

Also, to feel better about yourself at the end of the day, answer these questions: What did you learn today? What made you proud, and excited, and what inspired you?

Benefits of evening journaling:

  1. It allows you to debrief your day

  2. It relaxes you and clears your mind

  3. It helps to transition from a hectic day into sleep

Ample space for journal collection pages linked index

The basic Future logs template, monthly logs template, and 30 days daily pages are designed for your easy setup. And there are collection pages you can decorate the pages with your preference collection page widget, such as habit trackers, dream journals, weekly logs, etc.

Once you decorate the pages and simply write the page title on the index page. So next time you can click the index line, it leads to the page you created.
