Personally, since I was little, I enjoyed writing down my thoughts by drawing pictures and putting stickers in my diary. Maybe that’s why, when I met the iPad and Procreate, I burst into cheers. Because I can make my own treasure without wasting any more papers.

The Pros of Creating Your Own Digital Planner
It’s good to know how to create your own digital planner with digital illustration as the main design if you’re interested.
In my case, I set a theme for each month and sketch the digital illustration I will use in Procreate.
1. Being free.
It is possible with your own device. All you need is an iPad and an app that can create PDF files like Keynote or PowerPoint. And we already have devices or apps like this.

Keynote is free and comes with an iPad. This means you don’t have to pay extra. You can also use other apps. If the Keynote app is not available, you can create one using an app like Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or the Canva app.
2. Freedom and full control of your digital planner.
Having your own digital planner gives you freedom and complete control. When using the planner, there are sections that you use a lot, and there are sections that you don’t need at all. This is natural, as everyone has different needs and uses. However, creating a digital planner with sections tailored to your design and purpose will help you get to know yourself.
When I was a student and living with my parents, I didn’t need an overly specific finance ledger book. So, in my personal planner, I boldly deleted this item and put my reading journal. As an adult and living independently, sections for students such as class schedules have been replaced with work plans and journals.
Anyone who has used a planner and written a diary has experienced it. You can incorporate your own designs into these experiences.
If you are creating and running a digital planner business, we recommend that you create a product that meets the needs of these customers.
In other words, it can be divided into several categories, such as planners for students, teachers and entrepreneurs, planners for new parents, and so on, depending on your specific niche.
Creating your own digital planner can also vary according to needs and circumstances, and it is an advantage to design according to these circumstances and to adjust sub-sections and page elements appropriately.

I wanted to have an autobiographical planner that remembers my life and how I have lived intentionally, not just a practical and functional planner.
So, I can see the journey of the illustrations and design elements that I create. It has helped me to see the strength of my own creative journey.
Looking through my design, I can see that getting better and better. It makes me feel like I’m becoming a better me again. You can also smile at the beautiful memories of that time.

1. Creating your own digital planner is time-consuming!
Sometimes it takes a few days, if there are many sections it can take several months.
Especially if you are a beginner, it takes a lot of time to get used to the program and to understand the structure of hyperlinks.
But if you still want to try, you can easily get started with the Editable digital planner templates. If you want a simple design, you can create a digital planner design by adding your own design. Also, there are tutorials that are easy to follow.

However, it can take hours to create your own unique digital planner, even if you start with a ready-made template.
So, If you have little or no time, I don’t think creating a digital planner is for you. Using a fully made digital planner whichever suite, you can plan your goals and life.

I have already mentioned the advantages earlier. You are free to use and tweak your own designs to create your own digital planner, but if you don’t know anything about design, the opposite is the case.
If you don’t know anything about design or you’re not good at drawing, you can learn design inspiration and techniques from our monthly magazine.
I didn’t major in design either, but I was able to learn and master graphic design through digital design and production.
If you don’t have time to learn but want to make a digital planner, you can purchase graphic designs or clip art from professional artists under a commercial license and add them to your own digital planner.

The works of many professional artists are categorized to help you find the design elements you want. It’s also affordable and offers commercial licensees to help you build your digital products.
