Many types of blog posts can get the best results for your blog. I would like to talk about the type of blog post and how to write posts with the most effective types.

Always remember that you should keep your content as tightly niched as possible. You don’t want to create content that could hurt your SEO, and there’s no reason to create content that doesn’t help to achieve your goal.

There are many reasons you want to write a post. You might want to get email subscribers, sell products, sell the courses, or Ads/affiliates commission. In the end, you want your visitor to take action whatever you wish to.

1. Top Lists

Top lists are a very popular type of content that is perfect for a lead-in to a call-to-action. List type of blog posts is we all love and it can be easily get ranked on google, of course, content should be great.

As you can see on the search page, the titles are similar to like these below.

  2. Signs You’re NOT Ready to _____

  3. Top (10 Social Media Trends) That You can’t ignore as a business owner.

  4. Free Ways to _____

  5. The Top 10 (Items) You Need to have for travel overseas

List blog post showed a listing of topics included the topic of examples, tips, or resources. So visitors will love and be interested in. For me, I subscribe or bookmark the blog, when I find the great list post has more in-depth information.

So you make a catchy list post, but you don’t add CTA(Call-to-action). It is waste of time. Please ensure every post has CTA in it. For example, you could have an article called, “The 20 affirmations that most successful people use in the morning”. You could then have your call-to-action at the end of the article asking people to opt-in for your lead magnet called “20 affirmation list for your planner” or ” Goal Planner”- as your product.

2. Interviews

Interviews with industry experts and popular figures in your market will draw a lot of attention, and they help lend a little credibility to your call-to-action. In this case, you can create an infographic about the popular figures.

If you’ve interviewed someone people recognize, not only will it draw in more traffic, it will also make people naturally feel your own information is more likely to be good.

3. Guest Posts

Like interviews, guest posts by popular people within your niche lead your credibility to join your own calls-to-action. Depends on the blog owner, you may add your CTA or not. However, there are many chances the visitors can link through to your blog by clicking.

4. Tips & Tricks

People love articles that provide simple tips and tricks in an easy-to-digest format.

Lists of 5-10 tips and tricks on a particular topic draw a lot of readers and make it easy to lead into a call-to-action. It is similar to list-type posts, but you can find the ideas from Q&A: frequently people ask, in your niche.

If you are selling products, this post type will be a great posting for CTA.

5. In-Depth Tutorials

In-depth tutorials always tend to be big draws, but they’re also excellent for getting people to take action.

A good in-depth tutorial will bring in a lot of traffic, and it will also give you a lot of credibilities if it is well-written and interesting.

Many bloggers are using this In-Depth tutorial & How to type posts as a pillar post for their blog. This post can lead visitors to CTA. also you are offering a teaching service, this post is essential.

6. Video

Video is a type of content that has huge potential for getting people to take action because you can actually ask them to take action in the video itself.

For example, you could say, “Visit my website your-url.com and enter your name and email address for more information about how you can lose weight with today’s most popular diets!”

People who are watching your video are much more likely to hear your call-to-action than someone who’s just read a lot of text and now needs to read a call-to-action, so the video can be extremely effective.

7. Newsjacking Blog Post

People read the news from online sites or magazines. If there’s an opportunity for you to write about a piece of news that can or does directly impact your target audience, you should take it. Newsjacking refers to the practice of capitalizing on the popularity of a news story to amplify your sales and marketing success.

Alternatively, you could publish an initial post to alert readers of the breaking news, and then edit once more details arise.

However, if you are a beginner in the blog world, I would not recommend this type of blog post. The topic could be perceived as sensitive, be very careful with your writing and positioning. Your decision to cover the story might be controversial and negatively impact your brand.

8. Other Types of Content

There are other types of content you can consider, too. Remember that you don’t have to stick 100% to your main goals.

Occasionally, you can have additional goals for your content.

For example, maybe you just want to raise brand awareness. You want to get a big kick of viral traffic, and you’re not as worried about your main goals.

In that case, you could create a post that was totally out there just to get traffic and help people recognize your name within your niche.

Let’s take a look at an example:

Let’s say you write an article called, “The 25 Most Bizarre Weight Loss Inventions Ever Created!”

This article is pretty generic, and it could potentially draw a lot of people who aren’t even interested in losing weight because they just want to see the strange information—BUT, it could also draw dieters who would be interested in what you are offering.

It could also increase recognition of your brand in your niche, which could benefit you down the road even if you don’t get a lot of results immediately.

In Conclusion

Besides mention above the lists, there are many different types of blog posts.

Please ensure that you should use multiple lead magnets if you have a variety of topics on your site. You have something that will interest the visitor of each of those topics.

As long as you keep blog goals in mind when you’re creating, more people will take action.
