8 traits of people who are successful with blogging

If you look around, you will see a lot of people blogging. So… “Should I start a blog now?” “Isn’t it too late?”

Perhaps everyone has thought this question once or twice.

I, too, had such concerns.

I like to write, and I like to express my opinions in writing.

And, I have had the experience of blogging in Korea for a long time. However, I almost gave up while living abroad.

It has been three years since I re-started a my website with the thought that I should leave a record of my own life.

Of course, it was something I did as a hobby in my spare time while working at corporate wold.

Now I am blogging seriously as my entry of business.

I remember the time I built my website in the online world. So I am writing the questions when you start a blog, with my own experience and know-how.

Are you just starting a blog?

Do you feel like you’re talking to yourself?

If you, too, are having trouble deciding whether to blog or not, I hope this article is helpful.

First of all, before we look at the features of people who thrive on blogs, I want you to ask yourself about few questions.

If you have these reasons, don’t start.

1. Blogging is easy

If you think that blogging is a business that can make money without spending money and effort. That is not the truth.

It’s not an easy walk on the beach.

If you thought that way, you might want to reconsider whether blogging is right for you.

2. Start a blog just to make money.

If you’re just starting a blog to make some extra cash and don’t really care about your content, then this isn’t the right venture for you.

Blogging is a long-term game that requires constant work, and if you don’t enjoy it, you’ll most likely lose interest.

3. Become an influencer and want to get free products.

I blog as an influencer around me, and I see them receiving free products from companies and reviewing them. There’s also a reason why it’s cheaper for a company to promote a product through a blogger than advertising it in directly.

Blogging to get free products isn’t going to be your business. You’ll also know when to file your income tax returns. They are not exactly free, as these free goods must be reported to income tax.

4. Just write a post.

Blogging is very time intensive and it’s not just about creating new posts.

You need to invest a lot of your free time as you need to promote your posts, interact with readers, create graphics, update outdated posts, email lists, create products, and more. In fact, it is an endless cycle.

If you don’t have the time or the willpower to set aside time, it may not be for you.

Have you thought about it? Nevertheless, if you’ve decided that you want to blog, keep reading.

Because you are already a blog lover.

Blogging is a great way to share your thoughts and collaborate with like-minded people.

Also, many successful bloggers can make money through blogging, creating a flexible lifestyle that can be anywhere, anytime.

8 characteristics of successful bloggers.

Then I wondered what the characteristics of such people were.

1. Enjoy reading and writing.

Bloggers generally like to write. They also love working hard.

I read new books, articles by other bloggers, and news from around the world that happen every day. Acquiring a lot of knowledge develops the power of thinking and becomes the driving force for writing.

This interaction of reading and writing enriches their lives. They share their opinions and renew their lives by collecting the opinions of others.

2. Inform what you like and what you are good at.

Bloggers share and talk about their knowledge or hobbies.

Do you have any favorite hobbies?

Is there anything you are good at?

If so, let the world know. The world wants you to have a voice.

Blogging allows you to have your own platform to speak out, connect with others, and create an online community.

If you have a strong passion for one or two topics and have a lot to say about them, this is a great way to narrow your blogging niche.

3. Like to communicate.

In today’s fast-changing digital era, online communication is becoming an important part of our lives.

In my case, since I’ve been living abroad for a long time, I didn’t have many friends who I met offline (except my co-workers). So I came to recognize the importance of the online community.

I am still communicating with my acquaintances from other countries such as Korea, New Zealand, and the UK. Of course, we are also doing a lot of online communication in Australia, where we live now.

As such, the importance and satisfaction of the community play a huge role.

4. Pursuing a free lifestyle.

If you want a more flexible lifestyle that allows you to work from any location and set up your own time, a blog is perfect.

Traveling is not free right now due to the pandemic, but in fact, some bloggers I know are travel bloggers and travel all over the world.

If you want to break out of the rut, blogging is a great way to get out of it and work on your own.

5. Enjoy helping others

When you see people blogging, they share what they know about how they can help others and change their lives for the better.

If you love helping others, blogs are a great platform to teach others your knowledge.

6. Enjoy blogging even if you are not making any money.

If you enjoy blogging even if you don’t make money from your blog, then you should blog.

Initially, there is no profit. When I was doing it as a hobby, I didn’t even think about monetization, so I wasn’t obsessed with profits. When I blog on the Korean platform, read the article on “Why do you like a blog? (왜 블로그를 좋아하세요?)”.

But in the end, if your writing is informative, you will eventually get a return commensurate with your efforts.

7. Good self-control and motivation.

Posting regularly and consistent writing takes self-motivation and a lot of dedication and hard work.

If you can start on your own and constantly find ways to motivate yourself, a blog is an asset that will take you into retirement age.

If you start your blog and see your chances of success right away, you will fail.

You can be discouraged if you don’t see any short-term results.

Blogging is a long-term task. That’s why you need to motivate yourself if you have clear goals, long-term plans, and self-control.

It’s a long process to success, so you have to be the one who forces you to do things yourself, because nobody will force you. After all, you are your own boss.

8. Entrepreneur.

Successful bloggers are entrepreneurs. They know how to make a business. They don’t make money through blogging, they know how to make money.

Blogging is the first step to starting working for yourself.

As a blog for a long time, what you must follow is self-development. To share the information you want, you will learn the skill of content creation.

I also learned WordPress for my blog. Although I am not a designer, I learned the basics of web design. Even I learned editing film skills.

Not only this, but there are many things you need to know, such as common sense of taxes and trends.

You will constantly study to become an entrepreneur. In fact, blogging can open up a lot of doors for you to get through.

Blogging helps you gain visibility and serve as a portfolio when collaborating with brands and other entrepreneurs. Some bloggers get hired for other projects or get guest speaking opportunities in all sorts of fields.

As a result, it is a stepping stone for your personal branding.

In an era when personal branding is established as a big trend like these days, a blog plays the role of marketing your brand.

Before you actually invest your money and time in blogging, I want you to make sure you want to start a blog.

If what I’ve just said applies to you, that’s a sign that you’re going to be a successful blogger.

Overall, blogging involves creating and promoting content, creating a product or service, and so on.

It’s one business.

When your brand grows to a certain extent, you can form a team and work, but until then, everything must be done by yourself.

If you’re only doing it for the money, you won’t want to keep doing it in the long run, and it’s just a waste of time in the end.

So, think carefully about these things before diving into the blogging world.
