10 question for year-end Self-reflection

December is an important time for all of you who have been busy and hard-working throughout the year. It is also a time to goal plan for 2022. But because life is busy and hard, it’s easy to overlook the little ways we’ve improved ourselves and our environment. That is the time for self-reflection at the end of the year.

Looking back on the year and having time to reflect and achieve the things you have planned makes it easier to set goals you want to achieve for the next year. This is especially necessary if you have a tendency to be self-critical and obsessed with what you are doing wrong, such as my personality.

Writing is very helpful, but using it as a topic of conversation with family and friends is also a good opportunity to recognize yourself.

So how do we find out how to reflect on ourselves at the end of the year?

It’s time to ask yourself

Year-end self-reflection questions.

1. What was your favorite new discovery of the year?

It could be a recipe for your favorite food, a meaningful book, or a lecture. Or maybe we learned meditation and yoga, or joined a gym and went on a diet.

2. What are the talents and interests that you have experienced this year?

Do you have a skill or work/project that you have mastered by filling in the areas you thought were lacking? Have you discovered that what you used to do as a hobby is gifted?

3. What is the achievement you are most proud of this year?

There will be a number of achievements, both professionally and personally. Just by listing them, you gain confidence that the results you’ve achieved aren’t small.

4. What is your favorite purchase this year and why?

Saving is important, but consuming what you need and worth the investment is investing in your intangible assets. For me, it’s the new tablet and design programs. I am using these as a tool to create my new income stream.

5. What new habits or routines have improved your efficiency this year?

Habits can be really small. But are you practicing consistently? According to James Clear, author of Atomic Habit, even small actions can only become a habit if you do them consistently for 90 days or more.

For example, in my case, while preparing a meal, I immediately wash the dishes used while the food is boiling. With this habit, the time spent washing dishes after eating has been reduced.

6. What was the most difficult thing you faced this year, and how did you overcome it?

Looking back on self-reflection through the year, you could remember the difficulties and emotions you felt at the time, even though it was something that could be overcome. And you will feel a sense of accomplishment from overcoming it.

7. What is the most impressive relationship you have had this year?

For example, you may have memories of developing closer relationships with co-workers, or you’ve never been close to before but you had fun conversations with new friends.

8. What is your new daily routine this year?

For example, going to bed early, using a moisturizer, writing a planner every night, reviewing your schedule, eating more vegetables, etc. could be anything.

9. What goals have you given up on this year?

In my subjective opinion, no one is going to complete the plans they had at the beginning of the year. There are some goals that you give up little by little.

But don’t be discouraged. The goal you gave up is because it’s not objectively your top priority.

10. How has your self-awareness changed this year?

Are you starting to see yourself more positively than before?

For example, if you realize that there is an inner strength or coping ability that you have but you didn’t realize, you are very positive.

My finding for self-reflection

As I spend my year-end self-reflection, what I’ve discovered is that I tend to be indecisive. I find that I always make decisions overly complex, and this self-awareness has helped me immensely. The fear of failure and the quest for perfection often lead to indecisiveness and procrastination. But as you get to know me like this, you also learn the skills to overcome little by little.

A lot of people reflect on themselves and think about what they didn’t achieve this year. However, if you change the angle of the question you ask yourself, your achievements and personal successes abound. Based on this growth of oneself, I wonder if I will be able to create a goal for the next year that will grow a little more. Let’s learn from your successes rather than your own mistakes. And see yourself is developing more and more.
